PAST PROJECTS

Organic agriculture

It is a project that, through the practice of organic agriculture, seeks to educate on a way of growing and eating in harmony with our body and the environment. We have developed it in a community garden located in the town of Horsham, in the South East of England, since autumn 2019. And more recently in the Croydon area.  The project also allows us to achieve greater interaction with the local community, thus reinforcing our integration process.

The integration group began in 2015, with the aim of accompanying Spanish-speaking women in their integration process in the United Kingdom. Under a vision of solidarity and through the use of social networks, we disseminate support information on topics: labor, social, educational, housing and benefits.

From the work with the more than three hundred women who make up the main group, self-managed initiatives have emerged in smaller groups: Book Club (English-Spanish Exchange), Viajeras, Sentires Sonoros (Radio), Red Internacional de Mujeres (SOMEX) , Theater Group, Organic Agriculture, Women Creating (Crafts), We are not Invisible (Seniors) and Women who Read are not Dangerous.

It is an exchange space, formed five years ago, for learning the English and Spanish languages, we have the participation of a volunteer teacher, native English. We meet once a week in the King's Cross area. The club has become a social entity that not only promotes the active participation of users in the community, but also  it also generates community life.

We try to include human rights, feminism, stories of vindictive processes in the UK, customs, etc. in our learning. We want to improve social integration as well as the exchange of cultures. In this period of pandemic we have continued with the club through the use of virtual platforms.

Travelers

Inspiration and motivation to get to know our host country and other European countries,  It has led us to organize this group of travelers. Where we only know new destinations, but we generate self-management, we provide space for active listening, prevention of domestic violence, and strengthening of our capacities and rights as migrant women in the United Kingdom.

Sentires Sonoros is a social and community radio program, created to entertain and share current affairs about culture, family and women.

We seek to generate debate and social awareness in the community. We are a team of women and young migrants living in London. Our show is broadcast weekly via Facebook.
